Festival weeks raise both demand and sampling. Hindu BusinessLine reported FSSAI directing states to intensify surveillance on milk products, sweets, snacks, beverages, ghee and related staples at hotspots, with Food Safety on Wheels available for on-spot testing. Fruit-dairy and beverage FBOs should treat this as a readiness brief. Not legal advice.

📍 Hotspot readiness

  1. Licence and FoSCoS product list current.
  2. Batch/date marks on packed dairy and ice cream SKUs.
  3. Fruit prep lots dated — companion Patna pulp checklist.
  4. Menu or pack claims that match the standard — not festive copy alone.
  5. Handler certificates and Schedule 4 basics in café kitchens.
